After mediocre sandwiches, overpriced shots, and premade “island mojitos” served with a side of hate, we got a swift kick in the nuts when our flight to Oysterfest on the eastern shore of virginia was canceled. Kate rose to the occasion and suggested that we crash her summer house.
The weekend ended up being filled with exactly what we were after; beautiful weather, good food, and great company. We even snuck in a little extra treat- The B Street Band at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park.

Axe Sharpening Workshop
Thursday evening my buddy James and I were lucky enough to attend Best Made Co.’s Axe workshop. With my Hudson Bay Axe in hand, not only was I able to sharpen my knowledge but I was also able to bring my tool up to grade.
From Minnesota, to Chicago, to Belfast, and on down to Texas, Best Made Co’s famous axe restoration workshop has been around the world, and now they’ve brought it back home with an evening workshop at 36 White Street. Hosted by resident axe expert Nick Zdon at the helm, the workshop offered an overview of axe history, design, maintenance, and featured a of demo of handle replacement and hands-on sharpening instruction.

STATS:Had some issues with my ski tracks app (kept it in my outside pocket and froze it up). Saturday I skied from 9:30 until last lift at 4pm. the now was coming down hard by the afternoon. as the powder accumulated the crowds thinned out so i just kept on going. anyway, take the Saturday stats with a grain of salt.
SaturdaySkied 7.4 Miles and descended 4,126 feet. These numbers probably need to be doubled.
Sunday
Skied 3.8 miles and descended 2,972 feet (in about and hour).
