I have be researching satellite communication for quite some time. There have been three key instances where I have felt vulnerable and in this day and age it just isn’t necessary to be in that position. First was hurricane sandy where the power went out and thus the cell towers were down. Boom. Biggest city in the greatest country and you are cut off. Second was a rouge wave swamp our boat in Tortola. It was pretty terrifying and I often think ‘had it been worst what would I have done?’ The answer is scarier than the actual incident. We would be helpless. Cell phone would be wet and we would wait. Third experience was my time in Canada. While it’s nice being unplugged, it’s reassuring to know that you can pull up you true location and get a emergency message out just incase. The
